New York, Nov 27: Thousands of tourists who visit the United Nations Headquarters in New York every day can now have a special memento - their own image affixed to a UN stamp. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan was the first customer when the UN Postal Administration (UNPA) yesterday opened a shop in the visitors lobby dedicated to the new personalised stamp service.

The customers can have their photo taken and within 90 seconds their digital image is affixed to a blank tab next to an actual stamp. They will be given a personalized stamp sheet of 20 stamps. The price of the sheet is 14.95 dollars and the UNPA says collectors who cannot come in person to the UN can apply for a mint collectors' stamp sheet with a generic UN image. The stamps can be used to mail letters at the UN's post office.
