Media group meets PM
New Delhi, Aug 05: Leading media personalities today met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani to demand that government ensure strict adherence to uplinking norms and a level-playing field between Indian and foreign companies.

A 15-member delegation of the recently formed Indian
Media Group (IMG), which demanded "uniformity" in approach in all news media, also met Finance Minister Jaswant Singh, Law Minister Arun Jaitley and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
Among the delegation's other demands are a level-playing field in the tax regime and duty exemptions on a whole range of equipments for technology upgradation.
"We share their concerns on a level-playing ground on tax regime and duty cuts on equipment," Prasad told reporters.
