Lucknow, Feb 17: Uttar Pradesh government today categorically denied media reports that prime accused in poet Madhumita Shukla murder case. Amarmani Tripathi organised a party for the 'main killer' Prakash Chand Pandey inside a city jail on Sunday night. A section of the media had today claimed that Tripathi threw a party inside district jail to celebrate the marriage anniversary of Pandey where an assortment of non-vegetarian dishes were served and liquor flowed freely. The reports had claimed that Bihar legislator Rajan Tiwari, also lodged in the jail, was the special guest in the bash. Earlier, the CBI too had raised eyebrows over the alleged VVIP treatmenmt being extended to the jailed SP MLA inside the jails. While the CBI claims Tripathi had planned the murder of the 24-year-old poet on May 9 last year, Pandey along with Santosh Rai had carried out the crime. A DNA test had proved that Madhumita was carrying a seven-month foetus fathered by Tripathi, a ruling Samajwadi Party MLA and a former minister.

Talking to reporters at Vidhan Bhawan, state parliamentary affairs minister Mohd Azam Khan denied that any party was organised inside the jail.

Earlier a minister in the Mulayam Singh Yadav government Rajaram Pandey had reportedly organised a 'mushaira' inside the Pratapgarh jail where independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya is also lodged under POTA charges.
