Nagaon, Oct 06: A 12-hour `Assam bandh` has been called by the Assam Labour Party today to protest the killing of five tea garden labourers in police firing at Khobang tea estate in Tinsukia district.
Nagaon, Oct 06: A 12-hour `Assam bandh' has been called by the Assam Labour Party today to protest the killing of five tea garden labourers in police firing at Khobang tea estate in Tinsukia district.
The bandh will be observed from 5 am today and all
essential services such as medical, water and milk supply were
exempted, an alp release said here today.
The Chah Janajati Adivasi Jatiya Aikya Mancha, Chah Janajati Adivasi Yubak Sangha, and Chah Mazdoor Party have supported the bandh. Earlier on Wednesday, a 12-hour statewide bandh was also called by the All Assam Tea Tribes Students Association on the same issue. Bureau Report
