Kathmandu, Sept 10: The office of the Kathmandu district administration has imposed night curfew in parts of the city here in view of the growing Maoist violence in and around Nepal's capital in the past few days. Curfew has been imposed from 11 pm to 4 am local time, a radio report said.
The curfew covers Thankot, Kalanki and Balaju, the main entry points that connect Kathmandu with other parts of the Himalayan kingdom. The Maoists have intensified their attacks ahead of their three day general strike starting from September 18.
Kathmandu witnessed a series of blasts on Monday and today killing one person and injuring over a dozen people. The Maoists have mainly targetted government installations during their attacks. Bureau Report
