Nasik, June 04: Police today arrested Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar, who was on an indefinite fast here, and admitted her to a hospital following deterioration in her condition on the sixth day of her stir demanding rehabilitation of tribals affected by Sardar Sarovar Project. City police control told that a police team forcibly picked up Patkar from the venue of her agitation in front of Divisional Commissioner's office and admitted her to civil hospital as she refused to undergo a thorough medical check-up.
Police said Patkar, who has been vomiting since yesterday, refused to undergo a thorough medical check-up when asked by government doctors yesterday.
