Aurangabad, Aug 25: Taking a dig at Congress president Sonia Gandhi, BJP national general secretary Mukhtar
Abbas Naqvi today likened her to a hollywood performer, who merely reads out dialogues written by expert script-writers.
She performed on a speech written by her aides three days ago while moving a no-confidence motion against the Vajpayee-led NDA government, Naqvi said while addressing the BJP activists on the opening day of the two-day conclave of Maharashtra unit of BJP here.
"So engrossed the Lok Sabha Opposition leader was in her drafted-speech, that she did not understand the replies of NDA leaders like L K Advani, George Fernandes, Sushma Swaraj and Uma Bharati," the BJP leader said.
That was why she was complaining that the government did not reply to her chargesheet against it, Naqvi added.
Ridiculing the Congress president, he said that she understands merely written scripts and not the speeches made in Parliament.
Emphasising that Vajpayee regime has clearly established that coalition governments can be successfully run in the country, Naqvi said the six-years of the coalition rule has pushed Congress claim that it only can give stable governments.
Even the Congress, which ruled out striking alliance at its Panchmarhi conclave had after the party's recent Shimla meeting has expressed its willingness for electoral alliances and adjustments, he said.
He exhorted partymen to refute congress definition of communalism and secularism.
"How can Congress claim to be a secular party when during its rule, more than 22,000 innocents were killed, over 8,000 communal riots were reported and property worth crores of rupees was destroyed,” he said.
On the contrary, the NDA government made efforts to crush terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and brought normalcy in north-eastern states.
Naqvi lashed out at the Congress-NCP led DF government in Maharashtra and exuded confidence that under the dynamic leadership of Gopinath Munde, who was today unanimously elected as the party's state unit chief, the corrupt, inept, scam-ridden regime will be removed from the power.
