Paris, Aug 30: London's bid to win the 2012 Olympic Games is beset by internal splits that threaten to severely damage any chance of the British capital capturing the biggest prize in sport. Bid leader, controversial American Barbara Cassani, is side-lining government and sports officials needed to help the bid make an impact with the IOC members who will vote the 2012 winner in Singapore in 2005 sources in Britain have told.
Cassani is accused of refusing to seek advice and instead is determined to do it her way.
"I do not expect her to be in charge when the vote is taken," one government source said earlier this week.
"She is on her own now," he added.
British sports officials have also voiced dismay at the former boss of the cheap fare airline go, claiming that she does not seem to want to listen to anyone but people close to her.
Cassani was criticised earlier in the week for failing to attend the start of the world athletics championships in Paris, one of the early favourites in the race for 2012, when top IOC officials were present.
