Srinagar, Sept 14: Militant Outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the killing of terrorist-turned-counter insurgent and former MLA Mohammad Yousuf Parray alias Kuka Parray. The outfit also threatened two more "big" attacks. Talking exclusively to Zee News over the phone, JeM`s new area commander Sehrai Baba said Parray was killed to avenge the recent killing of Ghazi Baba. He also warned that the outfit was planning two more such attacks.
"JeM will take revenge against Ghazi Baba`s killing and we had identified three targets for the purpose. Parray was out first target and our `mujahideen` brothers successfully eliminated him last night. This is our first message to India and there are two more such attacks coming up," said Sehrai Baba.
However, he refused to divulge who their next target is.
Kuka Parray was killed yesterday along with his secretary and a sarpanch by militants attacked him outside his house in Hajan area of Baramulla district when he was he was going to attend the final match of a local cricket tournament organised by an Army unit posted in the area as the chief guest at around 2.45 pm.
Considered as father of counter-insurgency in Kashmir valley, Parray was the second counter-insurgent- leader-turned-politician to be eliminated by militants within a span of 17 days.
Former MLC Javaid Shah, who was the front-ranking counter-insurgent along with Kuka Parray, was killed in an attack at his office of Urdu daily Wattan on August 27.
