Srinagar, May 12: A CRPF jawan was killed and six other personnel were injured when militants attacked a joint army, police and CRPF patrol party outside a bank in Kupwara district of north Kashmir today, official sources said. The heavily-armed militants opened fire and lobbed grenades on the jawans at Haihama Chowk around 10:30 am.
The security personnel retaliated and the exchange of fire lasted for nearly an hour, the sources said.

The injured include three Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel, they said.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the militants involved in the attack, the sources said adding no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
