Lucknow, Aug 03: Dismissing RLD claim of enjoying the support of 22 ruling front MLAs in Uttar Pradesh, senior state BJP leader Lalji Tandon today said that the Mayawati government enjoyed comfortable majority and was ready to prove it anytime in the assembly during the coming budget session. Tandon dismissed RLD claim as "misleading, mischievous and unfounded" that 22 ruling coalition legislators, including some independents supported by BJP, were in touch with opposition leaders.
The BJP legislature party leader accused the opposition of trying to topple the BSP-BJP coalition government. Tandon, Uttar Pradesh urban development minister, said that the Mayawati government would complete its full term.
He said that RLD leaders had claimed earlier that 10 BJP legislators had met Ajit Singh and a few names were also released to the press. The legislators, however, denied the claim at a press conference held at BJP headquarters here yesterday, he added.
