"The President looks forward to this meeting as another opportunity for the United States and Russia to deepen their cooperation to deal with the shared challenges of the 21st century," White House spokesman Scott Mcclellan said yesterday.
The first ladies of both nations will also travel to Camp David in Maryland.
Putin will spend two days in New York before heading to the presidential retreat, according to the Kremlin.
