Pretoria, Feb 09: The South African police have been put on full alert to look out for India's most wanted criminal, Dawood Ibrahim and some of his aides, who might enter the country during the cricket World Cup.

Police spokesperson, Selby Bokaba, said that they had a list of undesirables from Interpol and they would be keeping a careful check on all border posts. "We are monitoring all groups and individuals that we think can cause problems. It's not about cricket only. We are members of Interpol and if a country gives us a name of someone who is wanted, obviously when that person enters the country he will be arrested,” said Bokaba.
Police will be keeping a careful check on all border posts and at Johannesburg International Airport and other airports. Flights especially from Dubai, where the underworld don is reportedly based, will be carefully monitored, he said.

Ibrahim and another wanted criminal, Chota Shakeel, have been named as match-fixers and are wanted by India in the 1993 bomb blasts in Mumbai.
