Rae Bareilly, July 30: The CBI today admitted that the video and audio tapes submitted by it as evidence in the Ayodhya demolition case under trial at a special court here did not contain the speeches of Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, BJP leader Uma Bharti and some others.
Briefing newsmen outside the court, the CBI consul S S
Gandhi said that of the four video and three audio cassettes
screened in the chamber of the special judge V K Singh, one
audio cassette contained the speech of Sadhvi Ritambhara.
Gandhi, however, said that CBI had, "oral evidence" against all the eight accused persons including Advani, Joshi and Bharti.
He said the CBI had oral evidence that these people were present at Ayodhya on December 6, 1992 and incited the crowd resulting in demolition of the disputed structure.
He claimed that the video and the audio cassettes did establish they were on the stage delivering provocative speeches.
The hearing of the matter would continue tomorrow when the defence consul would advance arguments on the charges.
Earlier, four video and three audio cassette were screened inside the chamber of special judge in the presence of consul of the concerned parties. Bureau Report
