Hyderabad, June 25: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ruled that no amount of documentary evidence would substitute examination by medical experts in cases pertaining to the accident claims in respect of motor vehicle mishaps.
Delivering the verdict here yesterday, Justice Prakash
Rao observed that medical experts are required to examine
those seeking accident claims as medical bills and
prescriptions could not throw much light on the extent of
damage and the compensation to be paid.
The judge gave the above ruling while disposing off a batch of civil miscellaneous petitions rising out of motor vehicle accidents. He directed that the government should continue medical boards with experts to assist the tribunals in arriving at correct finding as regards the physical deformity suffered by a person in a motor vehicle accident.
