Cairo, May 28: A London-based Arabic newspaper today published another in a series of letters it claims to have received from Saddam Hussein, this one claiming that he is "Fighting and hunting the cowardly American and British enemy." Previous letters attributed to Saddam published by al-Quds al-Arabi - which has taken a pro-Saddam editorial line and blamed the Iraqi people for his toppling - have been met with scepticism, in part because the handwriting did not appear to match Saddam's. The paper in the past published photographs of the letters it attributed to Saddam, but today it published only the text. Al-Quds al-Arabi, said the brief letter it published today was received yesterday by fax and dated Sunday. The paper's editor couldn't immediately be reached for comment. "While we are fighting and hunting the cowardly American and British enemy, we call on you to activate your political role in boycotting whoever is installed by the criminal invading administration," the letter says. The letter also saluted al-Farouq brigades and members of Saddam's Baath Party. Arab media reports in recent days have cited a number of shadowy groups like al-Farouq brigades as being behind an anti-American leaflet campaign and possibly involved in attacks on US troops.

Saddam's whereabouts are unknown.
