St Albans, Oct 08: Michael Owen has been named in England's squad ahead of Saturday's Euro 2004 qualifier against Turkey depite being rated no more than a "50-50" starter by England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson. Owen , who injured his shin in the Premiership defeat against Arsenal appeared at England's St Albans training ground, but did little more than stand about and smile, leaving the pitch on the back of a groundsman's trailer. Eriksson added that Owen is receiving round-the-clock attention from England's medical staff. Eriksson confirmed Aston Villa's Darius Vassell had been called in as cover.
Captain David Beckham looked relaxed after recovering from a "dead leg", but still carried a bandage on his thigh. Chelsea's John Terry is expected to play at the centre of the defence alongside Sol Campbell of Arsenal after Rio Ferdinand was dropped from the squad for missing a drugs test.
