New Delhi, Mar 31: Nationalist Trinamool Congress (NTC) leader PA Sangma on Wednesday saw nothing wrong in Rahul Gandhi entering active politics but declared that he would resign from the Lok Sabha "the minute and the second" Sonia Gandhi became Prime Minister.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, the former Lok Sabha Speaker said that however such an eventuality (of Sonia becoming PM) would never arise.

Replying to questions, he hoped that the BJP-led NDA was serious in bringing a Bill in the next Lok Sabha to bar persons of foreign origin from occupying high constitutional posts.
"In the last Lok Sabha elections also this issue was debated but the Congress confused it. In this election, people will decide the issue," he said after releasing the list of five NTC candidates in the northeast which included his re-nomination from Tura in Meghalaya.

Asked about the Congress plans to bring a legislation, if voted to power, barring people who have turned approvers during the freedom struggle and those who have collaborated with the British from occupying high posts, he said "Congress should stop living in the past and look towards the future".
The other candidates are Tadar Tanniamig from Arunachal West, Alok Ghosh from Mariany (Assam), W Morung Makunga from Outer Manipur and Amal Mallick (Tripura West). The party has already announced its candidates from West Bengal. Bureau Report
