New Delhi, Nov 15: Nearly three years after his expulsion from Congress, Delhi MLA Jagdish Anand today joined BJP and charged the Shiela Dikshit government of corruption.
Anand, who had quit bjp in 1974, joined the party again in presence of Delhi BJP chief Madan Lal Khurana and convenor of party`s election committee Vijaj Kumar Malhotra.
"I have decided not to contest the elections this year but I will continue to fight against corruption of the Dikhsit government," Anand told reporters here.
He alleged that Dikshit government had indulged in corrupt practices in awarding several contracts.
The former congress member claimed that Delhi was facing water problem because the administration had indulged in corruption leading to delay in construction of Sonia Vihar canal.
Khurana said that he has appointed Anand as convenor of four assembly seats in North Delhi`s Timarpur area. He said that Anand would also campaign against Dikshit in prestigious Gole Market seat.
Congress had expelled Anand in December 2000 after he had filed several petitions with Lok Ayukta.
