Nineteen terrorists were killed in different encounters with security forces in western Nepal in last 24 hours, the defence ministry has said. Nine terrorists were killed in Tanahun district, four in Syangja district, four, including three women in Kanchanpur district, and two in Sankhuwasabha district, the ministry said in a press release in Kathmandu.
Five terrorists were arrested from Syangja district during the search operations.
Security forces also arrested 72 suspects, including 11 from Kathmandu. Four bombs planted by terrorists in various public places of Bhaktapur district, 12 km east of Kathmandu, were defused by special bomb disposal team of the security forces.
The bombs were defused in Pandu bazaar, Tinkune, Suryabinayak and Dattatreya of Bhaktapur district, the defence ministry sources said.
