Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will make a statement in both houses of Parliament on November 20 on his just concluded tour of US, Russia and Britain. A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of the Union Cabinet, which expressed satisfaction on the achievement of the Prime Minister's visit during which he had held talks with US President George Bush and also addressed the UN General Assembly.
The month-long winter session begins on November 19.
Briefing newsmen after the cabinet meeting, parliamentary affairs minister Pramod Mahajan said that the government was keen to have separate discussions on the Prime Minister's visit. Besides, commerce minister Murasoli Maran will make a statement in both houses of Parliament on November 21 on the just concluded WTO meeting at Doha.
Mahajan said that the cabinet was appreciative of the personal performance of Maran as also his team after the commerce minister briefed the meeting on the deliberations at Doha. Government was keen on having a discussion on the Doha Declaration also, Mahajan said.
