New Delhi, Oct 01: The number of H1B visa issued to workers in technology industry in US falls today to 65,000 from 1.95 lakh. The H1B visa programme earlier had a ceiling of 65,000 per year. With increased IT demand in 2000, this was increased to 1.15 lakh and subsequently to 1.95 lakh for a period of three years. This increase ends on September 30, and the H1B cap reverses to the original 65,000 per year from October 1, 2003.
