Pakistan police arrest militant suspect, seize explosives
Karachi, Dec 09: Police arrested a suspected member of a banned militant group and seized 30 sticks of dynamite he was allegedly carrying in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi today, an official said.

Mohammed Bakhtiar, 28, was arrested in the city's eastern Korangi neighbourhood and said he was a member of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, a banned extremist Sunni Muslim Group, said Javed Baluch, the District's Police Superintendent.
Bakhtiar was walking down a deserted street when a policemen on a routine security patrol ordered him to stop. He tried to run away, abandoning a box containing 30 sticks of dynamite, Baluch said.
Bakhtiar was caught after a chase, Baluch said.
President Pervez Musharraf banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in 2001 in a crackdown against militant groups in the country.
