Chennai, Sept 24: Tamil Nadu today said any decision taken at the Cauvery monitoring committee at its meeting at Bangalore or during its visit to Mettur reservoir and Cauvery delta would be tantamount to Contempt of Court.
The chief secretary to the Tamil Nadu government, Sukhavaneshwar, in a letter to committee Chairman, A K Goswamy, said the committee's request to him to accompany them could not be complied with as the matter was sub-judice.
Tamil Nadu had yesterday announced its decision to boycott the CMC at Bangalore today on the plea that it would be sub-judice to attend the meeting as there was a contempt petition pending before the supreme court on the Cauvery water issue.
Goswamy, in a letter to the chief secretary, informing him about the committee's visit to Mettur and Cauvery delta, had requested him to accompany the team.
