New Delhi, Sept 18: Exuding confidence that the seven-metre-barrier was within her reach, world championship bronze medallist Anju Bobby George yesterday said it was just a matter of time before she achieved the milestone.
"It (seven metre jump) is within my reach. You can expect it any time," Anju told reporters when asked about her chances of reaching the mark. The long-jumper was talking to reporters after meeting Minister of State for Sports Vijay Goel at his residence here.
Reiterating the need for more international exposure for Indian athletes, Anju said it would surely help many players shine on the world stage.

Anju's husband and coach Bobby George, who accompanied her, also urged the Minister to ensure that top class infrastructure is provided to athletes.

Goel listed the steps taken by the government to create "sports culture" in the country and said he was hopeful that India would win many medals at the Afro-Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Olympics.

Anju, who will miss the Asian Athletics Championships in Manila from September 20 to 23, is one of India's main medal hopes at the Athens Olympics next year.
