Mumbai, Jan 19: Absconding CISF jawan R Namdeo, who had shot down his senior on duty last year, today failed to appear in the trial court even as the police filed compliance report saying they had affixed proclamation notice outside his residence and in the court premises. The court had asked him to surrender today but Namdeo was conspicious by his absence during the trial. The court has now set a new deadline, February 4, for him to appear failing which it would declare him an absconder and keep his file dormant until he is traced and arrested.

Police submitted a report saying the proclamation notice issued by the court asking him to surrender had been affixed outside his residence and the court premises on January 2.
The report further said that all efforts to trace Namdeo had failed.

The CISF jawan is facing the charge of killing deputy commandant A Karanjikar at airport on may 24 last year for refusing to grant him leave.
