Jammu, Mar 03: Charging National Conference (NC) of hobnobbing with communal elements, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister, Mangat Ram Sharma today said the party was responsible for dividing the state on regional and communal lines. In a suo moto statement after points raised by NC members during the discussion on the Governor's address in the Legislative Assembly, the Deputy CM charged the NC for "dividing the state on regional and communal lines." He held the party responsible for "creating wedge" between different regions and communities by raising the bogey of greater autonomy and bringing in the Resettlement Bill. Sharma said there was no difference between the BJP and NC and added, "For lust of power, the party joined the BJP-led government at the Centre.” Notwithstanding the hurdles being created by NC, the coalition government would succeed in achieving its objective of providing good governance to the people and equitable development of all the three regions of the state, he added.
