Police busts betting racket in the Capital
New Delhi, July 08: In an early morning swoop, Delhi Police today arrested five men who were allegedly running a general betting racket from a posh residential colony in the city and seized more than Rs 82,000 from their possession.

On receiving a tip about the illegal betting racket in the plush Punjabi Bagh Extension area, sleuths of the crime branch anti robbery cell established contact with them through a decoy customer and a deal was struck, an official statement said here.
Subsequently the house was raided and all the five accused, who were allegedly indulging in betting were arrested, it said, adding the arrested were identified as Arvinder Pal, Balwant, Khayal Singh, Kuldip Singh and Rakesh Kumar.
Further interrogation showed the gang's involvement in several betting rackets in Faridabad, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Delhi. The gang also had online links with major cities across the country, the statement claimed.
