Chennai, Nov 28: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad today and request him to permit Tamil Nadu to pump three tmc ft of water from the dead storage in Kandaleru. An official release here today said that Jayalalithaa would be accompanied by the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary, the Development Commissioner and the secretaries of the Departments of Finance, municipal administration and water supply and public works. It may be recalled that Jayalalithaa had written to Naidu on November 15 drawing his attention to the precarious drinking water supply situation in Chennai city and the drought situation faced by the state for the last four years. Jayalalithaa had already requested Naidu to permit Tamil Nadu to pump out three tmc ft of water from the dead storage at Kandaleru, the release said, adding that she would personally meet Naidu to reiterate the request.
