Wilmington, June 05: England's Laura Davies has been drawn with world number one Annika Sorenstam in her bid for a third LPGA Championship. But the Briton has not had the best of preparations for the second major of the year starting on Thursday in Wilmington, Delaware. Davies' father is seriously ill in hospital in South Carolina, while a planned practice round in Wednesday's pro-am was washed out by heavy rain.
She will have a formidable playing partner in Sorenstam, who won the Kellogg Keebler Classic last Sunday on her return to the women's tour after competing against the men at the Colonial. The Swede bids for a first LPGA title, and a fifth major, at DuPont Country Club.
"Colonial was a one-off opportunity, a great challenge and a wonderful experience," she said. "But I want to leave it at that, I won't do it again. Now I want to concentrate on the LPGA. I've won 44 times, but only four Majors and I want more.
"I've finished third twice here, and I would love to win this week."

South Korea's Se Ri Pak defends the title, while Catriona Matthew has been Britain's most consistent player this year. The Scot, who has already had four top 10 finishes and is eighth in the money list, finished eighth in the LPGA last year.

Fellow Scot Mhairi McKay, winner of the Australian Open in March is also in good form having finished runner-up to Sorenstam last Sunday.
