Aligarh, June 24: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today suspended a senior PWD engineer and a district panchayat officer (DPO) for laxity in carrying out development work in Ambedkar villages of the district, official sources said.
She, however, let off the chief development officer (CDO) with a warning.
Mayawati, who is at present on an inspection spree, said she would continue her visits to villages with an objective of monitoring development works in Ambedkar villages.
Later, addressing a public meeting at a village Naghlapusa, Mayawati said that the weaker sections of the society, the Dalits and minorities, would receive justice only when the seat of power at the Centre would be occupied by a person belonging to the under privileged sections of the society.
