Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has reconstituted the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) for the year 2001-2002 and appointed former ambassador to China C V Rangnathan as its convenor.

The 15-member board includes former secretary (economic relations) in the ministry of external affairs S T Devare, former Army Staff Gen (Retd) V P Malik, Air Marshal (Retd) Vinod Patney, Vice-admiral (Retd) K K Nayyar and chief of BJP economic cell Jagdish Shettiyar as its members.
Dr Charan Wadhwa, Dr Kalyan Banerjee, Nuclear physicist Dr M R Sriniwasan, B Raman, defence analyst K Santhanan, former Delhi Police commissioner Arun Bhagat, Jawahar Lal Nehru University professor Amitabh Mattoo, former special secretary in the ministry of home affairs Nikhil Kumar and R K Ahuja are the other members, an official release said on Tuesday.
The term of the reconstituted NSAB would be for a period of one year from the date of its first sitting, it said. Bureau Report
