Sena threatens not to allow railway exams

Mumbai, Nov 21: Asserting the need for providing
jobs to sons-of-the-soil, Shiv Sena, a key constituent of the
NDA, today threatened that it would not allow Railway
Recruitment Board (RRB) to conduct its exams on November 23 in
Maharashtra.
"Come what may, we will not allow RRB exams on Sunday and
do whatever to achieve our objective," Sena supremo Bal
Thackeray said in the party mouth-piece `Saamna' here.
In a hard-hitting statement, Thackeray said the
Congress-led DF government in Maharashtra resorted to "brutal"
Lathi-charge on Shiv Sainiks, who fought for just rights of
the local population, when the RRB office was ransacked
recently.
Chiding the DF for taking a stance that it would provide security for RRB exams, Thackeray said, "We will not allow to
hold this exams. If Maharashtrians are shedding blood for a
just cause, then it will cost dearly to the DF government."
Thackeray's ultimatum assumes significance in view of activists of Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS), party's Students' Wing, ransacking the RRB office recently for neglecting Maharashtrian youths in providing jobs while giving "preference" to north Indian candidates.
Also, the Sena's threat comes at a time when violence has erupted in Assam over a similar issue.
A delegation of Sena leaders would soon call on Railway Minister Nitish Kumar in this connection, the Sena chief said.
