Haldia, Apr 13: A Malaysian cargo vessel loaded with timber sank today at the Sandheads in Bay of Bengal, 150 km from here. Four of the 18 crew members on board of the 'Jenios Star Six,' including the captain, were picked up by a Korean ship which was passing 50 km off the area following an SoS from the coast guard, its commander in West Bengal, Col Randeep Kumar Wadhwa told here adding, attempts were on to rescue others. A Dornier Aircraft has been flown from Kolkata and two rescue vessels - 'Baraha' from here and 'Razia Sultana' from Paradip Port in Orissa have been sent, Kumar said. The coast guard had received news this morning that the Malaysian vessel bound for Kolkata Port tomorrow had begun tilting on its right side. It sunk at around noon. Bureau Report
