Militants attack army convoy in J&K
Srinagar, Sep 02: Militants today attacked an army convoy with an improvised explosive devise followed by firing in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, official sources said.
Srinagar, Sep 02: Militants today attacked an army convoy with an improvised explosive devise followed by firing in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, official sources said.
The IED planted by militants on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Chirsoo-Awantipora, 30 kms from here, went off when the army convoy was passing through the road, they said. Six army jawans including 21 have been injured.
Amidst IED explosions militants fired indiscriminately on the troops who retaliated, the sources said, adding casualties on either side were not immediately known.
Senior army officers rushed to the spot and troops cordoned off the area preventing any movement on the road, the sources said.
