Jammu, Oct 17: Demanding a full-fledged tourism package for the Jammu division on the pattern of Kashmir valley, Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal (JPVM) today accused centre and state governments for total neglect of the division in the share of development funds and packages. "The central and state governments have adopted discriminatory attitude towards Jammu division in all respects on the development fronts and failed to announce any tourism package on the pattern of Kashmir," JPVM chief Ram Sahai told reporters here.
JPVM is an apex body of 27 different trade, commerce, industries, hotel and restaurant organisations of Jammu.
Sahai also blamed union tourism ministry for its failure to announce any Kashmir-like tourism package in Jammu division.
By ignoring Jammu region all together in respect of employment generation and incentives packages announced recently by the union government, it has compounded the already prevalent feeling of neglect and raw deal meted out to the region, he said.
Sahai said a new package on tourism be announced for the tourist spots of Jammu only.
