Flow of Ganga stopped in Hardwar
Dehradun, Oct 06: The flow of river Ganga was stopped at famous Har-Ki-Pauri in Hardwar last night for constructing new bridges and other structures at a cost of Rs 12 crore in view of Ardhkumbh mela to be held early next year, official sources said today.

sources said today.
The flow of the river was stopped at Har-Ki-Pauri at
midnight and is being diverted through Neeldhara, they said,
adding the main bathing ghat would remain closed till Oct 23.
During the closure period, four temporary bridges would
be constructed to accommodate more pilgrims and a 640-metre long
sewer pipe would be laid to clear pollution from the river,
sources said.
Apart from this, Kushavart ghat would also be widened,
they added.
