New Delhi, Nov 11: State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has become the first company in India to install a forgery detection device. Central Vigilance Commissioner P Shankar inaugurated the 'VSC 5000', a document examination system, a company release said here today.

The system is capable of analysing documents and generating report.


Speaking on the occasion, Shankar said that it was not the job of the CVC to interfere in bonafide commercial decisions of any organisation.
Frivolous and motivated complaints can disturb the functioning of a company, and therefore, have to be dealt with accordingly, he said.

ONGC chairman and managing director Subir Raha said the company's vigilance department was progressively updating itself by inducting state-of-the-art technology and techniques.
