Bihar government has sought 15 additional companies of para-military forces from the Centre for deployment to prevent any communal flare-up in view of the Gujarat developments. The request for additional companies of forces was made after a high-level meeting of officials reviewed the prevailing situation in the state following communal flare-up in Gujarat and elsewhere, official sources said on Monday. Meanwhile, the state government banned processions of karsevaks in Bihar under criminal act.
The state government also asked all district magistrates to restrain the movement of karsevaks in their respective districts. Special security arrangements were being made for protection of railway property, they said.
