Ranchi, Mar 16: Jharkhand's Director General of Police R R Prasad tonight said that on the instruction of Governor M Rama Jois he had made arrangements for tomorrow's assembly session which has been convened by speaker Inder Singh Namdhari. DGP R R Prasad said he had received a letter from the Jharkhand Assembly secretary Amarnath Jha asking him to provide security for tomorrow's session of the house.
Prasad said Jha had enclosed the governor's instructions for it. He said he had directed senior superintendent of police M V Rao to make the necessary arrangements.
Yesterday, opposition MLAs, who have chosen Namdhari as their leader, had requested Jois to provide security for the assembly session in view of the March 13 pandemonium that had broken out after the Babulal Marandi government was reduced to a minority following the resignation of seven ministers and their crossing over to the opposition bench.
