Kolkata, May 24: Indians who missed out on the total lunar eclipse of May 16 can take heart as another celestial wonder -- the annular solar eclipse -- can be seen from parts of the country on May 31. The annular eclipse would begin at 7:00 am IST at a point in the United Arab Emirates and will be visible in India as a partial eclipse from the north and north-western parts, Positional Astronomy Centre (PAC) sources said here today. North-eastern Africa, Europe, north Asia, northern Greenland, northern Canada and Alaska would also witness the eclipse. The eclipse would last over five hours and end at a point in the Pacific Ocean, the sources said.
The annular phase of the eclipse would begin at 9:32 am IST and last for 12 minutes, the sources added. Bureau Report
