New Delhi, July 21: Doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences have decided not to go for surgery to separate the two conjoined baby boys for the time being.
The babies were born in a hospital here over a month ago.
"Though the babies are in normal condition and are feeding well, the concerned doctors have decided not to operate on them as of now," an AIIMS spokesperson said today.
The condition of the babies is stable and the concerned doctors would decide whether to go for surgery in future after discussing the issue among themselves, he said. On a question whether anybody has approached them to adopt the babies, he said, "an Amritsar-based NGO has approached the institute but so far no decision has been taken in this regard."
The twins born at the Lady Hadinge Medical College are joined at their lower abdomen.
Earlier the parents of the twins were said to have told AIIMS authorities that they do not want them as they already have two daughters.
