Srinagar, Jun 13: Union Minister of State for External Affairs Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that the future of National Conference in the ruling NDA at the Centre would be decided after the June 23 party convention when he is expected to take over party leadership from his father Farooq Abdullah. "Once I am elected President of National Conference (NC), I will convene a meeting of working committee of the party which will decide on the future NC`s participation in NDA," he told reporters here.
On his future plans, Abdullah said "I have programmes to get the state out of the present situation, but before they are announced it is necessary to get the assent of the party."
On allegations by state Congress that NC had formed a squad of surrendered militants to rig the elections, he said "I will comment only after the PCC chief Ghulam Nabi Azad quits the Rajya Sabha seat that he won with the support of National Conference."

The Minister said his party would continue to strive for greater autonomy for the state and it would continue to be the party`s poll plank. Bureau Report
