Viswa Hindu Parishad on Tuesday said its workers were ready to face bullets if the NDA government stopped it from constructing ram temple at Ayodhya.
“We are ready to face anything and even to face the bullets when the question of faith comes,” VHP senior vice president Acharya Giriraj Kishore told reporters in Coimbatore. On several political parties seeking a ban on VHP, Acharya said, “We are not bothered about political parties. It is a question of our devotion.”
When asked why the Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the home minister L K Advani, who were once supporters of Ram temple, were not coming forward to solve the issue, Acharya said, “Due to political compulsions they are unable to resolve the issue.” Vajpayee was never seriously attached to the issue though Advani had taken out a rath yatra, the VHP leader said adding the home minister was also compelled by the political situation.
Replying to a question whether the VHP stance may lead to the fall of the BJP-led NDA government, he said, We are not bothered about political uplift or fall of the government. That is their job to find a solution. Bureau Report
