Islamabad, Nov 26: In the midst of a thaw between the two countries, Pakistan Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali today said chances of a one-to-one meeting with his Indian counterpart Atal Bihari Vajpayee cannot be ruled out when the latter attends the SAARC Summit in January here. Jamali told reporters at an Eid function here that the ceasefire agreed by both the countries was a gift to the people of the region on the occasion of Eid and could have a positive impact in creating a peaceful environment in settling differences with India on Kashmir and other issues.

Asked whether there was any possibility of a one-to-one meeting between him and Vajpayee at the SAARC Summit, Jamali said "I think he will be coming for SAARC conference. I cannot rule out the meeting. We will extend full protocol to him. Hope there will be some reciprocity too".

While confirming Vajpayee`s participation at the regional summit to be held here from January 4-6, India had ruled out any bilateral meeting between the Indian Prime Minister and the Pakistani leadership. Bureau Report
