Bangalore, Nov 13: Left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra was today dropped from the Indian squad for the remainder of the triangular one-day cricket series. The national selectors drafted back Mumbai right-arm fast bowler Avishkar Salvi who was in the squad for the first three matches before Nehra replaced him.
"We have included Salvi in place of Ashish Nehra for the next match against New Zealand in Hyderabad on Saturday. If India qualifies for the final, Salvi will be retained in the squad," cricket board secretary S K Nair told reporters here.
Nehra, who played in his first match after a seven-month lay-off due to an ankle injury, against Australia here yesterday, went wicketless and conceded 80 runs from 10 overs as the world champions scored a 61-run victory over the hosts.
