New Delhi, Mar 04: Former law minister in the DMK government in Tamil Nadu, Aladi Aruna, today announced that he would campaign for the NDA in the coming Lok Sabha elections but made it clear that he had no intentions to join the party. ''I will be campaigning for the BJP and its allies, including AIADMK, in the coming elections,'' he told newspersons after meeting BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu.
About Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he said, ''It is a shame to project her as a prime ministerial candidate. It would inflict irreparable damage to the country's prestige.''
When asked as why he had decided to campaign for AIADMK after fostering several corruption cases against AIADMK leader Jayalalitha, Mr Aruna said he had only implemented the cabinet decision as a law minister in the DMK government.
Earlier, Mr Aruna also called on Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani.
