Kolkata, Nov 17: Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly today hinted at playing three pacers in the TVS Cup final here tomorrow to keep more options at hand, considering that the bowlers haven't bowled well to the Aussies in the early overs. Talking to the reporters in a pre-match press conference, Ganguly said, ''there is a distinct possibility of playing three pacers. We haven't bowled well to the Aussies in the first 15 overs and that is one concerned area that has to be taken care of. We haven't finalised anything at this moment. We will decide on it tomorrow morning.''
Asked if Irfan Pathan has been sought as a replacement for Zaheer, Ganguly said, ''Zaheer is absolutely alright and he is going to play''.
About the possibility of him bowling, the skipper said, ''I can't tell at this moment whether I will be able to bowl or not.''
Asked if the toss would be crucial, he said the advantage in batting first would be nullified in the evening when they bowl because of the dew factor.
Commenting on his own recovery, Ganguly said, ''I am improving everyday. As of now, there is no possibility of me not playing tomorrow. However, there is still 24 hours. We will have to wait and see.''
Talking about the slump in Indian performance against the Aussies after the Gwalior victory, Ganguly said, ''ODI is a very unpredictable game. Anybody who plays better on that day wins. In the first ODI we batted well and in the next matches they batted better than us. In a 50 overs game, there is not much time to get back.''
Asked to comment on the pitch, the skipper said, ''I had a look at it. It looks well prepared. It seems that enough work has gone into preparing the pitch.''
Talking about what kind of match was in store for the finals, he said, ''we are the two best sides in the world in one day cricket. It will be a battle between two best sides.''
