Beijing, Nov 24: China and India are ready to sign a major bilateral tourism agreement which would remove all barriers in the free flow of tourists between the two neighbouring countries, a senior Chinese official said. "We are ready to sign the Approved Destination Status (ADs) agreement with India, which is a major step to enhance bilateral cooperation between our two nations," vice chairman of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) Sun Gang said.

Sun said the ads agreement would be signed during the visit of CNTA chairman he Guangwei to India early December.

Signing of ADs agreement with India is one of the main purposes of he's scheduled visit to New Delhi, Sun told a news agency here. The CNTA chairman would hold talks with tourism minister Jagmohan, who had earlier paid a successful visit to china in November last year.

CNTA, which acts as China's ministry of tourism, highly values cooperation with India and is ready to offer all kinds of assistance to Indian tourists, Sun said.

He noted that after the introduction of direct flights between Beijing and Delhi from march this year, more and more Indian tourists are visiting China. Recognising the importance of China's huge outbound tourism market, India participated in a big way in two major international tourism exhibitions held in Beijing and Shanghai recently.
