New Delhi, Jan 20: Vikas and Vishal Yadav, son and nephew of Rajya Sabha MP D P Yadav, facing trial in the Nitish Katara murder case, suffered a jolt today with the Delhi High Court rejecting their plea to stay proceedings till disposal of the Jessica Lal murder case, wherein Vikas is a co-accused.
Rejecting the plea that Vikas could not attend both the trials simultaneously, the High Court said the accused had to make his own arrangements in the two cases.
Meanwhile, additional sessions judge S N Dhingra, who started day-to-day hearing of the case, dismissed adjournment applications of the duo terming it as "an attempt to delay the case." The accused had sought adjournment on the ground that their plea was pending before the high court. However, the court dismissed the application.

Terming this as yet another attempt to delay the case, the court disallowed the plea.
On the last date of hearing, when it was being fixed for prosecution evidence, another counsel had appeared for Vishal, the court said adding today's date was fixed after consulting his counsel.

Observing that the accused had engaged several counsel for his defence, the court said there was no need to defer the cross examination.
